OCIA (Order of Christian Initiation of Adults)

Are you thinking of becoming Catholic? Have you been baptized but not received First Communion and/or Confirmation?

The Order of Christian Initiation of Adults (OCIA), formerly known as RCIA, is the process by which adults (those above the age of reason) prepare and enter the Catholic Church, receiving the sacraments of Baptism, Eucharist, and/or Confirmation. This process includes a wide range of people:

  • Unbaptized adults
  • Baptized Christians from other denominations
  • Baptized Catholics seeking Eucharist and/or Confirmation
  • Anyone wanting to learn more about the Catholic faith

Just because you begin OCIA, doesn't mean you are obligated to become Catholic. Anyone wanting to deepen their understanding of the Catholic faith is welcome!
