"Jesus said, 'Let the children come to me, and do not hinder them; for to such belongs the kingdom of heaven."' (Gospel of Matthew 19:14)
Parents are the "first heralds" of the faith for their children. This task of educating your children in the faith however is not done alone. It is supported by the witness of a Christian life within the family but also enriched by the parish community (CCC 2225-2226). The Mass is a privileged place for learning the Catholic Faith, of which the Eucharist is the source and summit (CCC 1324). The celebration of the Mass is the high point of humanity's worship as well as the chief way that God sanctifies the world in Christ (GIRM 16).
God desires that every child be present at His Table. Children are welcome at all Masses! We do offer opportunities however to celebrate Mass in a way that is more accommodating for families.
